Tuesday, February 22 - Thursday, February 24

  • Begin your POST-PLANNING Pages for the Color Theory Form Paintings. Click here for the project sheet and the journal requirements. Each page needs to be activated like the pre-planning pages and you need to make sure include all the information in the post-planning pages.
  • Make 3 thumbnails using photos of your four Form paintings. For each thumbnail, you need to cut up the photos and reorganize them into a new composite composition. One of these thumbnails will eventually become your final project (due next Tuesday). These thumbnails are part of the Post-Planning Pages. Here is what you need to consider for each thumbnail:
    • Forms from the painting. Each form must be in tact. In other words you can't cut up the actual form in each painting, but the rest of the painting needs to be used in new and creative ways.
    • Focal Point. You need to have a clear focal point. One of the best places for a focal point is the offset it to the right of the middle and a little lower than the middle of the page. A good rule is to leave your best form painting intact.
    • Visual Movement. As you cut up the painting and reorganize them, make sure you spread out the colors around the composition. Don't isolate a color unless you want it to be the focal point.
    • What extra can you add? You can add more paint, words, magazines - whatever will creative make a new composite composition of your paintings.
  •  DP4 - Work on your Post-Planning for your Impressionistic painting. What are you planning for your next painting?
