Final Changes

Due to our unexpected snow day, all finals will be held on Monday, December 20 through Wednesday, December 21. Here is the new exam schedule:

  • Monday, December 20th – periods 4, 1 and 2
  • Tuesday, December 21st – periods 5, 3 and 7
  • Wednesday, December 22nd – periods 6 and 8
Drawing and Painting will have the same exam as has been explained in class. Here are the objectives of the exam drawing:

With the drawing paper provided, draw the still life and cast shadows. Create a full value drawing using either pencil or charcoal. You will be graded on the following criteria.
  • Composition. Did you take into consideration placement on the paper, the cast shadow, and the negative space? Since you had such a simple subject, did you create an interesting drawing?

  • Value to model form. Did you correctly create a full value scale from 0-9 without too many 0 or 9 areas? How controlled is your transition from 0-9 values?

  • Technique. Did you demonstrate and good understanding of how use the medium you chose to draw the still life with?

  • Perspective. Did you sightlines and measurements to make sure your still life was in perspective and in proportion including the shadows?
