DP 2 - Watercolor Still Life (Realism)
Extra Credit Journal Assignments.

Monday - Friday: Work on your watercolor still life. Focus on recreating reality. We will do our best to be complete by Friday since the water in our vases and bottles won't make it through Spring Break. Photos will be taken on Friday to help finish our work. Don't forget to take mid-state and end-state photos of your work.

DP4 - complete your current personal painting project. You will begin your next painting project when you finish this work. Follow the same cycle as the last project. Home project is to draw a bike from different points of view - at least 5 different drawings 8x6.

Weekly Homework will resume after Spring Break. The homework will be used for your final exam.

March 21 - 25

DP 2 Project - Watercolor Still Life
DP 4 Project - Personal Painting Project

• Monday: Work on completing your Pre-Planning Pages. DP4 - Work on Personal Painting Project. 
• Tuesday: Begin your watercolor painting by lightly glazing the areas of the drawing in the realistic color. Make sure you block your whites with rubber cement. 
• Wednesday - Friday: Work on mini-lab painting. DP4 - your personal painting project should be completed by Friday.

Upcoming Due Dates:

1. Drawing Homework: 5 black ballpoint pen gestural drawings of your backpack (or purse) in an environment. Make sure each day it is a different environment. Due on Tuesday, March 30th.

Week of March 14 - 18

DP 2 Project - Watercolor Still Life
DP 4 Project - Personal Painting Project

• Monday: Complete REALISTIC PEAR MINI-LAB by adding details and a black line for definition. DP4 - Work on Personal Painting Project.
• Tuesday: Introduce Still Lifes and set up Watercolor paper for painting. Discuss next steps for the paintings and the class expectations while Ms. Munson is away. Pear Mini-Lab is due. 3 Minute Drawing Homework is due.
• Wednesday: Make three thumbnails of your still life making sure each still life thumbnail has a focal point.
• Thursday: Make a value sketch of your still life thumbnail focusing on the value in the shadow and in breaking down the glass bottles. .
• Friday: Lightly draw your thumbnail onto your watercolor paper. Work on your Pre-Planning Pages.

1. Pear Mini-Lab: due on Tuesday, March 15th.

Friday, March 11

• Continue working on your realistic pear mini-labs.
• Focus on value and creating color that is realistic. (Use complements - Burnt Sienna (red), Raw Umber (green))
• Remember WARM to COOL.
• Monday is the last day we can work on the pears. They will not last beyond Monday (if that long).

Extra Credit Homework is due on TUESDAY, March 15.
